Just a quick update on Saturday while I have some wi-fi here. My objectives were met. I came down here to New Zealand on very minimal preparation, but knew that I still held some pretty good fitness from racing Ironman in October. My main goal was to get qualified for Kona. To guarantee that I knew I would have to get into the top 10 and go under 9 hours. Fortunately I was able to do all of these things and set an Ironman P.B. in the process.
I will put the gory details in another post. In the meantime I am going to go and nurse the road rash that I managed to get in the first 5km of the bike (stay tuned).
