From the starting point the finish line looks far, far away. However, once you hit your stride, you'll eat up the distance like it is nothing. It doesn't matter whether you are working out, taking on a new business project, or changing your entire lifestyle. The same rules apply: Concentrate on the moment. Put every ounce of energy into the task at hand. You'll be exhausted when you finish - but you'll finish far sooner than you might expect.

This was the horoscope on my computer dashboard this morning. And there folks is the attitude needed for Ironman training and racing. Now time to suit up for 2 hours rolling along in the rain.

HPR Christmas Party

Saturday was our annual HPR Poker Ride/ Christmas Party and it began with a mad dash scramble around town in teams of 5 to pick out a poker hand from different locations. The team was happy to have Mr. Simon Whitfield and Mr. Jasper Blake out for the occasion. Once again, the poker ride was won with a very impressive hand (a pair of deuces).
Next up was the HPR Christmas Party at Chez Greg and Carmen's. There are some pictures here to document the evening, but once again the no camera rule after a certain time was in effect.
This years fund raiser for Mustard Seed included a fantastic Martini Bar (skillfully tended to by Stevo and Robyn), an amazing raffle (thanks to Synergy, PISE, Pro City and 7 Systems for the prizes) and some very tasty Jello Shooters (thanks to Karen and Ann). It is safe to say that a great time was had by all and we managed to raise over $700 over the course of the evening.
